This educational pamphlet serves to inform young school aged people about the dangers of heroin use and addiction. Written primarily by a member of Narcotics Anonymous on behalf of the organization Narcotics Education, Inc., this pamphlet was donated to Rufus King for use in an instructional program dealing with narcotic drugs. The pamphlet delves into statistics about heroin addiction, as well as the origins of heroin's use in medicine. The writer, Daniel Carlsen, reflects on his personal experience with addiction to heroin and a resulting kidney transplant, as well as accounts of addicts he interacted with, writing of their recoveries, relapses, and deaths.
